Atmosphere 4 stars. Drinks 4 stars. Food 3 stars. Service friendly and nice. It's really nice and the place looks great. Friendly service. However even with reservations there is always a little wait, and it's cramped. i make reserations every time and the wait will be anywhere from 15-25 minutes past your reservation. Staff and other people will bump into you pretty consistently also. it's very cramped. as far as food: The lobster wontons are great, just make sure you like mushrooms. The tempera avocado, scallop, sweet potatoes are good (they tempura stuff i've never heard of, like the tempera avocado). The sushi there isn't bad either (I would give it a solid B). A little pricey. Dress is casual/dressy. go more for atompshere then anything else i would say.

I would never think to come here on my own.. but on my company's dime.. i'm never one to turn down free food and drinks. Friday night, my company rented the starlight room for happy hour and we ate food, danced, and shook up the joint. The view from the place is spectacular. It's breath taking to experience the sunset from this spot. The company was great, the staff was attentive and they were very decent to us--a little snobby, but I was having too much of a good time to get down about it. The DJ rocked! Played top 40 and JT (my favorite) and everyone was happy. 9:30 rolls around and they open the place to the general public. As I'm looking at the crowd, I'm thinking "this place is soooo seedy!!" The starlight room is like where all these stinking rich men come with high class "escorts". It's secluded from the rest of the city and very dim and intimate. The tables are designed for quiet chatting--they are no more than 2 feet in diameter! No one looks at anyone else and they mind their own business. Anyway, in a nutshell--I wouldn't come back, but it was definitely cool to see the famous "starlight room" once in my life. It has such an old world feel... I wonder what it was like in its heyday. p.s. i hear that if you are the mid- to late-twentys crowd.. wednesday night at the starlight room has a great party... the fridays - sundays are the awkward nights.
