Nuyorican Poets Cafe is a home for poetry lovers as myself. I usually go on Fridays for the poetry slam. You have to arrive at least an hour and a half on line to get seats. Otherwise you'll be sitting on the floor or even worse standing. If you get a seat by the bar, be prepared not to hear much. The bartender makes a lot of noise with his register as well as the people around. All in all you'll have a great time for $10.00 on a Friday night. Amazing experience.

I had the hardest time finding this place. The place is called Bordello's but the old sign of "Little Pedro's" is still up. Anyways, this bar is unique, and not in the bad way. The bar itself is dimly lit (like all bars) and furnished with antique furniture. The staff and the people are friendly. Yeah, most of the people who frequent the establishment reminds you of Marilyn Manson but I personally thought it was fun. It wasn't over the top S&M bar but just enough to make "Normal" people feel giddy that they tried going somewhere borderline taboo. I didn't have any mixed drinks here so I can't really rate the drinks but the beers were cold. I don't know if it's a pro on con but I did spy Pabst's Blue Ribbon for those of you who like Malt liquor.
