kokos is small and has been pretty quiet every time i've been in. it's a nice change of pace to drink somewhere where i can actually have a conversation without deadening background noise. they often project cheesy movies on the wall. last time it was some zombie movie with hilarious green-screen effects. chris is an awesome bartender with a great sense of humor. definitely not the most exciting or high-energy place, but very cozy and a good way to start off a night.

I am EXTREMELY surprised to find 5 star reviews on this place. Maybe I happened in on the wrong day or my hopes were too high, but this place stinks! From the horrid decor to the back patio (I don't consider concrete covered by a black tarp to be pleasant), to the dumb bartender and the "queso," this place was the ultimate disappointment. Coming from Texas, I am always longing for queso (if you're from TX and living anywhere else, you know that most other states lack in the queso arena). Gross bean dip with no hint of any cheese does not count! The margs were small and possibly virgin--I look for neither in a good marg. Also, the bar area was closed in the afternoon and we were forced to sit in the less attractive restaurant area even though there was a bartender working and not another soul was in the place. I had such high hopes, but they were all dashed.

I like the Empanadas here. Great Decor and a nice attractive crowd makes this a great date night or gathering spot before serious patying takes place. Cool ass bar and booths. Kinda crowded on weekends.
