MONDAY AND TUESDAY 1 DOLLAR SUSHI or something like that. Fairly good. Cheap. This waitress named Kayla is hilarious. Been here twice and it's been consistently decent. It's not a place I would suggest for a ballin night out, but as a chill place with some buddies it's pretty ideal. Also got a red curry last time I went because it was freezing outside (darn you cold front) and it could have easily been skipped. I could have got hot water or something to warm myself. The sushi is pretty good. It's not really worth it to get the niguri because the roll gives you so much more. It salmon is nice, the tuna is nice, the shrimp tempura roll is tasty, and for some nutty reason I do dig the Philly Roll (read Ken T's review about the missing salmon). Yup. So don't take a first date here because she will think you are cheap (or thrifty if you spin it right). But do come here will buddies and tip your waitress well. I also came here once for a college party. The drinks were cheap cheap cheap. Or very college priced, and college tasting. One drink was poured with a heavy hand, the other was missing the vodka. Good times though.

Ok I am not into jazz but the person I brought here was so my review may be a bit skewed but as far as an establishment, this place is meh. You're paying for the name, that is all. Even though we had tickets in advance, we had to wait outside in the cold for about 30 min. Once we were let in, we were told coat check was mandatory; no coats could be left on the back of chairs. Um ok. We are poor college students so we left our coats on. The place is small so it is very cramped. You will get seated with other people right next to you. There is a $5 food/drink minimum which isn't awful but the tickets are pricey to begin with, but such is life in manhattan. Anyway, my drink was $12 and smaller than a juice box with barely any alcohol in it. Le sigh. I would not come back here again. There are much better jazz clubs in the village that are cheaper and more relaxed than this overrated place.
