First off -- people, rate the club, not the line! I am not a Drai's employee or anything like that. I just think it's unfair to diss a spot that you never even got into. Sure the line sucks, but there are fire codes and stuff, plus everyone will complain if the place is too crowded. Not everyone's going to get in. Show up early, be a very hot female, or pony up some cash! Those are your options. Okay, putting away the soapbox. Let's just assume you find your way in. This place should remind you a lot of Vegas, albeit on a slightly smaller scale. It's the ultra-lounge experience, at maybe half the size. That isn't a knock. LA is a denser city, so there's less space to go around. That's just the way it is. As you can see from the pictures, there's a nice poolside lounge area, which is decked out with cabanas and plenty of standing room to people watch. There are fantastic views of the city. The dance floor isn't massive, but I also didn't find it overly crowded either. It was just about right. The DJ was spinning all the top hip hop tunes of the 2000s (this was a Saturday night). Ladies (and a few inebriated gents??) were dancing on top of tables. Like I said, a slice of Vegas plopped down near the corner of Hollywood and Vine. Dress to impress, everyone! This is not Venice Beach, it's Hollywood! Fellas, if not a blazer, at LEAST throw on your flyest jeans and a button up. Ladies ... well you should know what to do by now. The drink prices were standard nightclub fare. Seriously, just get used to paying $12 and up for a shot or cocktail. The prices are never going to go down. The overall vibe was actually less pretentious than I was expecting. This was a chill experience. With a few minor exceptions, I didn't feel like it was a bunch of people trying to be cool ... people were just cool. Everyone I talked to was friendly. Most of the ladies were smiling. Not too many guys hating. Check this place out. Definitely bring your wallet! Just leave your negativity at home.

This place is a sweatbox and they charge a 5 dollar cover (not a big fan of covers)... but the music is good (a mix of hip hop, reggaeton, and reggae) and so are the drinks. However, there are some "characters" here... like this one guy that was obsessively attracted to my hair. Oh, and it gets verrrrry crowded in here, so it took a while to maneuver away from him. It felt like it took a while to get anywhere in here, despite the space being very small. Other than that... be prepared to dance your ass off! Good times, good times.
