HUge Huge huge fan of this hotel. This has to be my favorite hotel in Hollywood. The outside pool, the possible ghost meeting of Marilyn Monroe who used to stay all the time in one of the Bungalow cabana's. They say she haunts the place, so I went on a ghost hunt there a few times. The rooms are okay. Big photo of the rolling stones in one room, a big photo of David Bowie in another on the 8th floor. That, to me got an extra star and is wicked cool. The bathrooms are tiny and old fashioned. I like the hard wood floors in the rooms but you can really hear the elevators/power generators all night long. Food? Steak in the restaurant is to DIE. Main lobby has huge chairs and candles everywhere. I wanted to move in....

My first and last time at this bar / restaurant was a disaster. I had read the reviews on rateclubs before I went but decided to give it a try anyway because my favorite hip-hop band was playing. First, I showed up expecting that they served food (they're a restaurant, right?) with no such luck. The door charge was $10 per person, which was a discount because I was there to see the band. It would have been $15 otherwise. I arrived at 7:30 when the band was supposed to start, and they didn't go on until almost 8pm. Here's the unbelievable part - the club let the band play TWO SONGS before telling them they had to get off stage because they had a private party coming in at 9pm. Somehow the band was given the cue to go ahead and play a third song, and the club owner cut off the PA system halfway through the song. Now I have been to some divey joints, but I've never seen a band get turned off in the middle of a song - and their THIRD song, no less. The crowd was understandably upset (there were about 50 people there to see the band) and they started chanting "refund". I approached the club owner about getting a refund, as I had paid for 10 people to come see this band, and he refused. He actually said to me "Did I take your money? NO, I wasn't the one that collected your money!". When I explained that he was responsible for what happens in his club, he refused to take responsibility and then had the nerve to ask me to leave his club! I was still out front talking when the next band arrived, which wasn't until 30 minutes later. He could have easily allowed the band to finish their set. This place is a poorly-run, confused establishment and doesn't deserve its place in Pasadena.
