by Tommy Schempp on In NY or Vegas, I love Tao. Be prepared to be eating in the middle of a nightclub, but the food is worth it. I dream of the sea bass and the miso cod. Other notable appetizers include the spicy tuna on crispy rice and crab cakes. It's amazing this place is still a "scene" after being around for so many years, but the vibrant lounge area, beautiful zen Asian decor and great service keep people coming back, and it is the most popular Asian restaurant in NY. Nice mix of tourists and locals, and you can always spot a celebrity or two. Tao very rarely disappoints. The only thing I would not recommend on the menu is the shabu shabu. I prefer mine a little more authentic, and the flavor was a bit odd.
by Tanesha Cumberland on The coconut crusted fish and rice was perfect. It was so good, we ate everything and didn't leave any leftovers even though the portion large. The Mamajuana mojito is also a wonderful drink and was prepared very well. Just one sneaks up on you and has you feeling real good. Yucca fries were plentiful and marvelous. The live music was also very entertaining. I would love to come here more often and with maybe another couple to really have good times with.
