Sent my burrito back 2x they still brought me back the wrong burrito. How is that possible? Tacos are overpriced and I don't find the fish to be anything special. I give em two stars for the sole reason of the cheap pitchers, but after this latest burrito-gate I will not be returning anytime soon. Their salsa is bland and they charge for chips. Two instant signs that this place is a fraud. Taco tuesday is supposedly the only good thing going but I find everything about waiting in that long of a line at a mexican restaurant called Nick's revolting. A place with this scale of operation should be taking card too, the bar has no problem with it. I just wish it would be replaced by Cactus in Rockridge. I don't need the drinks just an authentic, cheap burrito. Is some mole too much to ask for?

Wun Wiz Wit......and then wun minute later, I get my philly cheesesteak. And to be honest, although I may have had better elsewhere, its pretty good. I think the story of Genos opening perhaps 30 years after Pat's and happens to be straight across the street selling simply the same exact thing with flashy colors has got to be entertaining. But I guess that's just business. And frankly, I think Geno's is better( http://static.px.rateclubs....). And here's why: 1. The cheese isn't goopy but watery and somewhat flavorful 2. The bread isn't rock solid and offers a bouncy baguette 3. The meat is in slices instead of clumps of litle pieces. This makes it feel like solid meat, not ground up Sorry Pat, seems like the new guys got you done.

I had a wonderful evening here with my bf. :) It was kinda weird that we were one of two parties dining there on a Friday night...so empty and so sad actually...but the other party was on the other side and not within my view so I decided to pretend that the restaurant was cleared out for just me and my man. We had a $50 gift certificate from http://restaurant.comso had the opportunity to eat like rockstars. I suggest you do the same as things ARE overpriced. We had.... 0. In place of bread we were given fried wonton crisps with a trio of dipping sauces. I LOVED the mint sauce, then the tomato, then the chipotle. The waiter took it away while I was paying attention to something else and became really sad. Guard it with your life. 1. Scallops in lemongrass & Chantrelle broth and wasabi mashed purple potatoes (small plate) - I found the scallops very yummy. Ever-so-slightly crispy on the outside but juicy in the inside. The potatoes were good but I did not really taste the wasabi. It just looked like they cut the scallops in half so you were really getting 2 instead of 4. Sneaky. 2. Sesame Beef Tacos (starter) - yummy with diced tomatoes, avocado, and this white sauce. But I will say that Kung Fu tacos are A LOT better and only $2 each 3. Tuna Tartare with avocado, tobiko, wasabi oil, and plantain chips (starter) - I really really liked this. The tuna and avocado each made up one side of a ying-yang circle. Cute. The plantain chips were the perfect size to put a dollop of tartare on and pop into your mouth. YUM! 4. Semoline Crusted Halibut with purple and white roasted potatoes, sauteed spinach (entree) - The halibut was perfectly cooked and the purple potatoes were interesting. They definitely added to the complexity of the dish 5. Tandori-Roasted Rack of Lamb, garlic mashed potatoes, beans and green tomatoes (entree) - the lamb was a bit tough. But I LOVED the green tomatoes...I've never had before. My bf really liked the potatoes...."Not from the box" he proclaimed. lol. 6. Two glasses of Trefethen Dry Riesling and a Ginger cocktail. I definitely like my yummy sweet wine! I actually enjoyed the appetizers more than the entrees. Next time I will probably just order a mound of small plates. But overall I enjoyed myself there. :) The bill was $87 including tip and tax...not bad at all.
