by Leonel Spaeth on Honestly, I have never met such a rude bartender-or person in my life. I gave her my drink order and she rolled her eyes at me and forgot one of my drinks. Then, when it was last call, she yelled at everyone to get the eff out. I understand if you have a tough day, but perhaps the service industry is not your niche, my friend. I guess they keep the long red-haired bra-less bartender there for people who need a reason to drink.
by Ellsworth Mettig on Tuesday night is not party night. OK so i was there on a Tuesday but I would expect a few more customer than the other 5 people besides me. So i give it a 3 because it looks like a cool place and the bartender was cool, but as far as any extra scenery well maybe on the weekend. Nice tables and decent amount of room so I guess if I happen to be near by I may stop in again but won't necessarily go out of my way.
by doris c. on one star, for the friendly security staff. that, and Rateclub does not allow me to give this place NEGATIVE STARS. i came here a lot 3-4 years ago, when they were able to sell out the club and open BOTH floors. and still charge. but tonight? i came to see a friend. the second floor was closed. at 11:30 i went up to the bouncer "i know i missed guestlist, anything you can do?" assassin-dressed bouncer dude: "no it's $20". me (peeping inside to see EMPTINESS) "i'll just wait outside". in the 20 minutes i waited outside, 2 parties left. as in, 2 CROWDS of people left. and NO ONE else came in. NO LINE. nothing. crickets chirping, and bass thumping. it was sad. i'm sorry, $20 for a has-been club is an injustice to sf nightlife. but maybe i shouldn't blame suede. Element SF was throwing the party, so their misinformed and/or disillusioned bouncers (namely, the old, stout looking one in the black hat and long black coat) should learn better: your night sucks, don't make your clients pay for it. take your money elsewhere! Roe makes you pay but at least it has the potential to be fun, not dead!
