I was disappointed last weekend when Los Van Van came to town because Yoshi's ( I am assuming just to make money) made it so that there were TWO sets a night. This would be awesome if it meant your $40 was for both sets. but no.. We went Thursday at 8, the band started at 8:30 and (after an awesome time) were kicked out at 9:30. Then they let the people in for the 10:00 show. And those in my Salsa class who wen't to the later shows said they only played an hour then as well. Whats up with that Yoshi's! I know you just want to double your profit, but it is unfair and we would be willing to pay a little bit more for a full concert. It was still awesome, full dance floor, AMAZING BAND from Cuba, the Yoshi's employees are nice and the venue is pretty classy, but I will think twice before attending a non-sit-down-jazz concert there.
by Jon Yearous on An awesome, low-key bar to hang out in with tasty tots and Brunswick stew! A great starter bar before you go to MJQ or The Clermont, which are both right next door. I definitely recommend this place! It's also not TOO loud, so you can still talk to your friends, but it's still CRAZY packed on the weekends. Win-win!
by ALEX W. on I liked Trigger. Great music. I have only been once, but will go again. The 8 dollar cover (Friday Night) was ok. The drinks were good (my friends knew the bartender). The go-go dancers were hott, not the best dancers but still hott. Overall it was great. It was nice to find a dance club and not a bar that plays dance music. it reminded me of South Beach on a much smaller scale.
