"Renaissance hillbilly" best describes the art that lines the walls of this venue and this sets a nice tone for newcomers. This intimate venue doesn't hold a very large crowd and that adds to its quaintness. The bar area is small and near the entrance. This is perfect. It allows one to get down to business as soon as one enters. Sometimes I'm not in the mood for that large venue that "everyone" goes to. You know what I'm talking about; that venue that is so large you have to find the bar. I mean, you can't really go straight to the bar in larger venues because you'll look like you're there for the booze and not the show. The Harlot takes this worrisome possibility off your hands by having the bar near the entrance. By thoughtfully placing the bar here, I kind of have to grab a drink as soon as I enter since it is on the way to the happenings. It only makes sense to do this. In the end this will save me time and I think we all can agree that you can never go wrong with time saving. I came here to see some electro house jams performed live. The crowd was a pleasant mix of the young and not so young, as well as those who were down to get down and those who weren't. The aesthetic charm of the Harlot alone has me anxiously awaiting my return.

My family lives in Smyrna and when I've come to visit we like to go here for a fancy meal, or if we'd been out and about in Atlantic Station. I've been with just my mother and with my whole family (including my handicapped stepfather). I can honesty say that I've never had a bad meal here, but I will also add that the only thing I've ordered are the sushi rolls, and the fried calamari. Oh the rolls! I dream about them when I'm back in Brooklyn. The sushi is excellent, I might even say the best sushi I have ever had. The service was great every time, and we're gotten good recommendations fro drinks and meals from our servers. If you can and if the weather allows, sit outside on the patio. I like this place much more than Twist, and yes it is on the pricey side (drinks, apps, and rolls add up) but I think it's one of the better and nicer places to eat in Atlanta. But this is coming from someone who only lives there during the summer months (May- August).
