by Ally S. on SO glad there is another option for Mexican near Grant Park. I'm liking this place! I've been there with a group of foodies as well as on a date and it's a great spot for any occasion. While it's called a taqueria, it has many other options for chow as well as a full drink menu. Speaking of the bar, there is a very open and spacial bar where you can sit and enjoy a drink while waiting on your table or have your entire meal there. There are two sections to the restaurant divided by a glass wall (serving as the back of the bar) and I'm assuming a third will open up on the patio one the weather is warmer. Because of the large windows on 2 "walls" of the building, it's not exactly a cozy place. Its open and a bit retro with the cool lime-colored lighting hanging in funky fixtures and the old teal refrigerator standing near the kitchen. The first time I went, I had the fish tacos which did not impress me. Friends have said the same--they need more seasoning! The huge chicken burrito is AMAZING and can be two meals since you also get rice and beans along with. The chicken quesadillas are equally as delish with the idea of using corn tortillas. The cheese dip is heaven and you can add pickled jalapenos for the extra kick! I hope this places sticks around for it's hot setting and good grub.
