I went to Greenhouse on 9/11. We got in after an hour of waiting. Greenhouse has taken this exclusive thing to a ridiculous level. The bouncer text messages the door man for entry. I also notices that although clubs hold the right to be selective they didnt seem to let in many African American women on line even if they were cute and dressed in a trndy manner. This place is a disaster and I hope the fall off soon

I still haven't gotten used to the whole gigantic bar thing that happens down here in Atlanta. Back in DC, my favorite spots were in tiny rowhouses or awkward basements, not warehouses with soaring ceilings and sprawling bars. Six Feet Under is impressively large but yet still maintains a somewhat cozy feel. There were a lot of families dining here late on a Friday night, which I suppose is an indication of good food, but I always feel awkward being drunk around toddlers. Call me crazy, but it just doesn't seem right. Still, I was able to put it all behind me, somehow. The real kicker here was the price on some of the beers: $7.75 for Chimay?! Um. Wow. I don't think I've ever seen it priced so low during non-happy hour. And yeah, it was on tap and served in its own glass. Perfect. I'll take two. Service was friendly, laidback, and attentive (I'm noticing a theme of this in Grant Park-- love it!). I sampled a bit of Kristine's bread pudding which was very good, and Berlin's fish sandwich was the size of my thigh, so it seems like you certainly get your money's worth here!

When I found out that my Mom's Holiday party was going to be here, I was feeling real hesitant about going. I'm not a club person to begin with but I am the type of individual that will try to make the best of the situation. We drove around and my Mom said, "Just go to the valet parking attendant". I really thought I could have just found parking on my own on South Van Ness and we could have just walked but I took her advice. They were pretty swift but it's on the corner of Broadway and Polk, which makes it difficult because it's a constant stream of traffic. Upon arriving, you enter this mirror to mirror mini corridor and the minute you step inside, you feel enveloped in utter red velvet and chintzy square mosaic mirror pieces that line the pillar within the bar. The place is Moulin Rouge (Red walls) meets Red Light district (red lighting because all of the light is bouncing off the red walls) meets the Opera (more chandeliers than management and bar staff put together). There was a bit of strange smell in the corner that my mother and I decided to kotch at. Overall, I really enjoyed the company. My Mom's co-workers were very friendly, sweet and a bunch of party animals (and they were quite a bit older)! For the most part, I would never go to this place for a club night. Since it was closed off from 6-10, it was decent enough but for this place to become swanky, if that's what they want, they should probably re-model and get a completely different interior designer to make it a little less blood and womb like. I really, seriously, felt like I was in a placental sack but still managed to have fun with the crazy office guy dancing to every tune and twirling me around. Good times. Good times but not if I have to pay for that experience.
