by Karissa Elhadi on Webster Hall confused the hell outta me. I went there Friday to hit up a dance party dj-ed by some of the guys from Bloc Party. Sweet right? Definitely did not turn out to be what I expected. This place attracts some ridiculous people. The highlight being the pack of high school girls who bugged me in line that had pre-gamed on their drive from Jersey alittle toooooo much. Probably the most annoying people I've ever met in my entire frickin' life. It was merely a precursor to the night. -One packed smaller room playing techno- no spank you. -One packed large room playing hip hop- nope, nope, nopers. -Downstairs- full blown punk rock show. I guess, yes?? The crowd was a mixture of creepy olders guys, europeans, preppies, hipsters, skin heads, elitist bimbos, trannys, thugs, and high schoolers. Quite overwhelming really.

Sounds more like a review of a car than a restaurant, but if these are qualities that *drive* your restaurant choices, head up to Six Feet Under. The new digs across from Oakland Cemetery are, well, comfortable. Not sure yet if the old bar scene will be able to repeat itself. There was something special about crowding around that old bar. It was the real deal. This new bar is nice. Well, the people are prettier, for sure. We'll see. The crab legs were yummy, Oysters Rockefeller satisfying, fried shrimp basket hit-the-spot good - all in all it reminded us of being in a fish house with a view of the cemetery subbing for the water. Not bad. This place also makes it onto my "Cheap Wine/Good Food" list. There's always room for one more...yeah. Recommended if you're in the area and wanna step up without dressin' up.
