by Lisa R. on I am a sucker for champagne, sparkling wine, whatever. You name a place the "Bubble Lounge" and you have hooked me. This place used to be an every Thursday night regular with me and my Sapient fiends. Close to the Financial District, it was a good right after work hangout before the super cool kids came out to play and displaced us. Now, I come up and play at the Bubble Lounge when I need a night away from the humdrum. Get dressed up, reserve a table a week ahead of timemso you get good service and get your bubble on. Good people watching, big space, comfy couches, and a looking bar at which to sit and get hit upon. :) Bartenders are pretty friendly, unless they are totally slammed. Good music, sometimes a bit too loud. When the place gets packed, it's sort of like a free massage, you slide on by a LOT of people and you get a lot of squeezes. I have never had any of the food here, sorry about not being able to weigh in on that.
by ashley g. on Went last night to hang out with a friend, and as always being a girl it's forever a breeze to get in if you know the right glorious promoters (thanks aamon and jen). Anyhow the place was packed by 11, everyone dressed to the 9's and as typical to the hollywood club scene the men and women were beautiful. My suggestion: If Hollywood "be seen" is your scene than make a regular visit to this new hot spot that is H-Wood
by Deandre Harvill on Loud loud loud loud.....thats all I can say. You can't hear yourself think in here. I have not eaten anything here, so I can't comment on the food. When I went here last i ordered a Manhattan, on the rocks. Our waitress proceded to not know what a manhattan was, and then had to go ask the bartender what bourbons were available. However, when the final result came, it was a decent drink, and filled a glass that must have been 12 oz. I really just can't get over how loud it is. Did I forget to mention that i docked it one star because someone was shot and killed outside their front door last week. Someone described this as "a hidden cambridge gem" HELLO it's right on mass ave and it's the brightest loudest building on the block, not to mention it's constant newspaper mentions, it is as far from hidden as possible. My overall review, if it were the only bar in town I'd go, but there are just SOOOOO many better choices within a block, the Phoenix is not worth your time.
