I went to Glorias in Dallas and really enjoyed it, but when i came to Austin I expected the same 'family joint'. BUT this place was awesome...hip cool place....i loved it. The all day happy hour from Sunday - Thursday is awesome. Great selection of drinks. Salsa was good. Thick with a kick. I liked the consistency of the chips. They're a little thicker. With the salsa there is a tasteless black bean dip that is room temp. Don't really care of that. The service is excellent and the food is really yummy!! The price is just right. I would take out of town guest here in the future.

God, I miss Le Prive. Oh wait. I'm reviewing Le Cercle. ...God, I miss Le Prive. Le Cercle reminds me of the person who went in for elective reconstructive surgery only to reemerge with results that are less than spectacular. In fact, I kind of had to ask myself why didn't they leave well enough alone? To be fair, the interior is very modern and they made very very liberal use of neon lighting. The DJ wasn't bad but nothing to write home about either. He played typical club music and thankfully tossed in only one or two Korean songs. Like typical Korean clubs, the alcohol has been watered down but that's to be expected. What I did not expect was the happy little bell in our private room to be broken which meant we actually had to run around to find the waiter. I think one person in our party had to text message him to let him know we needed something. Another one of my friends had to walk repeatedly to the bar to refill our cranberry and orange juice. Being in a private room also means we're supposed to be able to sing karaoke. Nope. Didn't happen. Not only did we not have the catalog of songs but there were ZERO microphones in the room. Minus one star for that. Minus another star for the abysmally small dance floor. Yes, people. Size does matter when you're referring to a dance floor. Granted, it's larger than other clubs but for a club of this size, it is beyond teeny weeny. It is definitely considerably smaller now than when it was Le Prive. I've more or less retired my dancing shoes but when I do break them out, I expect to be able to dance and not feel as though I'm wiggling around like a sardine in very packed can. I considered taking off another star for the valet parking. Apparently you have to pay for "regular" parking and then "VIP" parking is $10. I"m not quite sure what that meant but if it meant I was going to get my car faster, then fine. I"ll pay the $10. I'm not docking another star because I did get my car relatively fast...but I'm beginning to wonder if it's because I left a good 20 minutes before the club closed. Oh, Prive. What have they done to you? * sigh *
