My first visit there I was turned away twice till some hipster outside smoking a happy cigarette gave us an inside tip of how to get in AND it worked. We get in, the place is packed beyond belief, the show is about to start and they tell people to sit on the nasty floor. This chic lets us sit at her table which was super nice. The show was by far amazing! Magicians, acrobats (PG-explanation) and we knew instantly you will never experience this in any other club in the city. The DJ is amazing, playing songs that are about to hit Winter 2010 and the crowd a bit skeletal model, hipsters and hedge fund nerds but fun. We left an hour in and after 1 drink ($25.00 bucks). 2nd time Wednesday night. Arrived kind of early. A bit of haggling at the door but we got in, nice! This time the show was kosher but they gave us popcorn. I don't even like popcorn but damn even the popcorn at The Box is exclusive. 3 drinks and two shots in we leave, gotta work in the morning. 3rd time Saturday night. Get in with no issue at all. Laugh at losers getting turned away, hey I was in their place once - you can't give up that easily . This is where The Box loses a star - the show, I saw the same act at The Slipper Room earlier this year and if you know The Slipper Room its $5 bucks to get in, drinks are dirt cheap and the shows don't stop not like the once every hour The Box holds down. But we get to see everything from the second floor balcony, private bar and it really doesn't get any better when you hear "Hey, welcome back let me get you a drink". Of course I'm going to keep going back, its the hottest club in the city right now but damn it lost originality and exclusivity points.
by Ricky Pecher on Wow. I'm really surprised with the reviews! I guess I came here on a good day (again?) I'm too lucky. I loved the ambiance and decoration. The red lights made the place sexy lol When you get to the bottom of the stairs, you're greeted with some couches and places to sit at (you can actually sit at the bar, compared to Fluid lol) Servers/bartenders were polite and courteous. We went here for dinner the other day. Infusion is a restaurant from 5-10:30 then after that, it's a club! Just a note: all ages are welcome during dinnertime. The dining room turns into a dancefloor when the clock hits 10:30. It's 20 bucks to get in, $10 even if you're on the guestlist; but if you're there for dinner, you don't needa pay cover. Anyway, the food was good but the portions were small. Pricey too but I thought it was worth it. I had the Scandalous which was basically ribs. It was so tender and delicious! There were about 5 pieces and that was $11. I also recommend the Utopia dish ($12) which is kinda like prawn sushi rolls. They were good. I just wish the portions were bigger =[ minus a half star. So like I said, the dining room clears out to become a dancefloor at 10:30. Good music, good drinks but kinda on the weak side. Take half a star for that. Oh, and here's a separate paragraph specially for the bathroom! Ha. I swear, I've never seen a bathroom like this before! At first I thought it was unisex but when I got in, they had separate stalls for each gender! It looked so futuristic and the doors were hella cool! lol The hand drying thing looked weird so I didn't bother with that. If you go there, you gotta tell me how to use it! Teehee. Parking was kinda hard since it's like almost in the heart of the city. I should also mention that there's only ONE vip booth/room. =[ Sucks but you can still buy those tables by the bar. I think they're like equivalent to two bottle services or something like that. All in all, I give this place 4 stars.
by Alfonso Koterba on I would give Temple a solid 3.5 stars, but rateclubs doesn't allow you to do halves, so I guess I'll round it up to 4 stars. Anyhow... make sure you get here early. My friends and I were all on guestlist (which gets you in free before 11), but we didn't get to the club till 10:50. It's hard to get 15 people together on time and heading out from San Jose. So, we all ended up paying $20. Paying $20 wasn't that bad since that's the usual going rate for club covers. Then, came the coat check, which was $2 per jacket, which wasn't too bad since I thought they would charge more. The club is laid out with the main floor on the top level. The main room is pretty much a big white room with pink/purple lights. Last night, they were playing house music on the top floor all night. I'm not sure who the DJ was, but the music really wasn't that great. Then, when you head down to the bottom floor, there's a small white room with bubbly leather walls and a blue light setting. The third room is a very dark room and you feel like you're in a cave or something. But the music was better in the dark room, so that's where we ended up staying all night. It was a mash up of old skool/new hip hop. I think in total, the club has 3 full bars. The drinks are pretty pricey - $10 for shots , $5 for beers, and about $11-$12 for mixed drinks. At least they made my mixed drinks good and strong. Overall, we all had a fun time here. But it wasn't as great as people hype it up to be.
