I've been to this aquarium 2 times in the past 6 years & I'm taking my new boyfriend of almost a year here for his birthday. He's a huge lover of marine life & was born in the Atlanta area, but has yet to make it to the aquarium. I'm looking forward to showing him the Jelly fish & the great blue wall. Just to name a couple of my personal favorite exhibits. : ) Ah, so fun! I don't recommend viewing any of the additional theater shows unless you have smaller children I would say...under the age of 10. Other than that this is a great GREAT experience for all ages. ; )

LOVE this club. For real. It's the first place I think of when wanting to go out. It does help that a ton of my friends frequent/work at this club, but still, yay! New Wave, Dark Wave, Awesome Wave...you'll hear it here. And the most important thing to note is that they serve Stella. Mmmm Stella.

Lebowskifest, baby! Every time I've been to Mezzanine in the past, it was either crawling with douche bags [ http://www.rateclubs.com/bi...], or crawling with burning man types. I certainly like the latter better than the former, but frankly neither is a crowd in which I feel quite at home. Last night, Mezzanine finally served up a crowd that put me in my element. Dorks. Everywhere. Half of them dressed up as Jeff "The Dude" Lebowski, or as Walter Sobchack, and all of them spouting lines like "I don't roll on shobas!" and "no Donnie, these are nihilist, there's nothing to be afraid of" and "obviously you're not a golfer" all night long. I didn't dork out quite that much, but I did wear my league bowling shirt - which is embroidered with "The Dudester" (because I *am* into the whole brevity thing). Jeff "the Dude" Dowd (friend of the Coen brothers and the inspiration for the movie character) was there - and I have pictures to prove it. He was completely smitten with Rachel F. She definitely could have had a little dude last night if she'd wanted it. Wisely, she giggled and flirted, and left it at that (the dude is kind of old, and kind of fat, but hey - he is still the dude). The Extra Action Marching Band wove in and out of the crowd, on and off of the stage, performing and AMAZING set of dark alternative marching music, complete with dirty go-go dancers. Totally the highlight of my week. We would have stayed for the showing of the movie - but it was so hot that I was dripping, everyone in there smelled, and we just had to leave after the EAMB set. But it was a great time - and I've got photos and a commemorative t-shirt. ;) Nobody FUCs with the Jesus! Eight-year-olds, dude.
