A couple of my girls and I went here last night. This was my second time. I couldn't really form an opinion after my first visit, since I couldn't stay long. I just remember it being dark and the music was decent. Both times were Saturdays. Anyway, I can definitely say I enjoy this place. It is dark! It was also crazy packed. The music in the bigger room was great. Lots of good stuff to dance to. I didn't really enjoy the music in the smaller room, but it was House, and that's not my thing. I have to say I didn't think the staff was all that friendly, but, whatever. Some random girl was buying us shots, so we didn't have to deal with the bartenders too much. :) So, I will certainly go back!

food is just ok, but tthe pan is so perf for a sunny afternoon or warm summer's night. exploration is full of nooks, crannies and potential danger! what with the combination of steep stairwells, free roaming drinks, and a dance floor in the hull, steerage quarters in the older side boat is where it's at. the main boat is more scene-y. embrace your boating fantasies with drinks on the top decks. must fetch your own corona buckets however. waitress service is pretty scarce. fun fun fun. (don't wear heels)

As a native New Yorker, I seldom go to places like Buddha Bar, however, I felt compelled to at least try it out for our Anniversary. Yes, upon arrival you are transported to another time and place. The music is outstanding, the vibe is romantic and the crowd heps to make the scene. However, for the prices they were charging for all of these experience, the food, most notable the sushi doesn't keep up to those standards. I am also fully aware that the restaurant has to pack them in to make as much money as possible, but can we have at LEAST one to two feet of separation between the guests. I am all for meeting other people, however the intimacy we wanted to have for our anniversary was lost as we were had no space. As the night wore on we were distracted by our two yenta neighbors one hour review of the menu and their indecisiveness, and the other side of us was the blackberry girls texting each other, despite the fact that they were drectly accross from each other!!! Anyway, in conclusion, its a Vegas style scene in the MeatPacking district. The design is way over the top and I could see why its popular with the tourists and the like. However, I won't be going back here since are far better Sushi and Asian fusion restaurants for the money you will spend here. Perhaps we will head down here for drinks at the bar since we loved the Buddha Bar soundtrack and lighting.
