by daft b. on NEVER, EVER GO HERE. I've been going to clubs in LA regularly for 10 years now, and never had such bad experiences as at this pit. The last and final time, we went to see an advertised artist at 11pm and told they hadnt gone on yet. We paid $20 a piece at the box office and went inside where a sad and anxious handful of ppl listening to someone spin radio hits. We paid for the smallest draft beer, looked like a half a pint, @ $8.00 each! At 11:45 the lights went up and we were all told the club was closed and the act wasnt going to perform. The house staff were bullying everyone to get outside and when we asked for our money back we were told, no ,that they wernt responsible. (????)We went looking for the manager who was hiding in a corner and she mumbled the same thing. When we contacted the office the next day, they repeated that they wern't responsible, refused to return our money or give us the name of the "promoter" who they said WAS responsible. This is the tackiest ,ghettoist way to treat customers. I used to go to this club regularly and have never had a very good time. The crowd and staff is always confused and the dance floor always has those really weird creeps who try to grind and grope on any female. Wait till your artist plays ANYWHERE else. There's just too many great places in LA to put up with these shits. Try My House, the Roosevelt, Hollywood/Highland or even the Roxy. Where the staff arnt just neanderthal powertrippers and appreciate your there to have a good time and spend your good money!
by Porfirio Tollerud on I like the layout of the club, and have enjoyed myself during each of the three times I've been there. The food is okay, the music suits the environment well...but a little more seating at the bar would be nice. I enjoy the crowds and it's a place where you can actually hold a conversation without having to scream over loud music. I will certainly be back once again. If you go with a group of people, you can usually negotiate the entry fee after 9:00 p.m...it is normally $10-$20/per person.
by Inna V. on I am still SOO pissed off at the live earth concert. I mean, it would have sucked bad enough if I had just watched it at home and seen how useless it was in addressing the problem it set out to address and the fact that it wasn't even good as far as concerts go. BUT NO! I just had to drag myself and my poor boyfriend to this craphole of a place to watch the abomination on a giant screen. We ordered a bloody mary - which was the most disgusting thing I have ever attempted to drink , an appetizer sampler - the only half-edible thing and even so not very exciting, and the asian chicken salad - the most flavorless version of this usually appetizing dish I have ever encountered. Gross. Totally overpriced.
