Everyone had been raving about this place, so I decided to check it out. I should have stayed at home, played loud music and danced around my room. First, I was happy to arrive and had been told that there was free valet parking. It is not free. It is 10 bucks to have a guy park your car in a lot that looks as though it is where they take repossessed cars or totaled cars. Sketch. The snooty staff informed me that my guests and I were not on the "guestlist" even though I put us on it way in advance and even received a confirmation. Whatever. They tried to make us feel important by saying that they can make an exception and let us in this time. How sweet of them. After we entered, I could see why. There was no one up in the place! My friends and I got really drunk in order to have a good time. There was no one dancing and everyone was standing around staring at one another like we were at a sixth grade dance or something. Lame! There was a photographer who kept taking pictures of the same girls over and over again. I guess because they were willing to facebook slut it up for him. The bartenders were cool though! If you spend money, they will take care of you! And what was up with the go-go dancer? She looked like she was fresh out of high school! I wanted to ask her if she was allowed to be up this late and if her parents knew where she was. Skip this place if you can. Not worth it!

Was there for a private event, so I can't say much about the vibe on a typical night. I can only comment on the decor, food, & bar tending. The decor is kind of cool, but intense (bright red glowing columns with faux iron honeycomb grating, black leather couches & soft, squishy chairs & ottomans, & vaguely Asian touches of art. Oh, and the light up runway, along which I can only assume scantily clad women strut & gyrate on a typical night). I couldn't get enough of the 3D geisha portrait behind the bar -- keep an eye on it as you walk slowly from one end to the other, and it's like a little 30 second movie (with no repeats!). The food was fine, but not spectacular; if I knew I was going there, I'd make it a point to eat something tastier beforehand. We had an Asian-style lettuce / chicken salad, a few corn fritters (pretty good, actually), beef sliders (which looked really good but were disappointing, especially the buns), and what were basically tortilla chips with bits of tuna & veggies on top (alright, but kind of bland). Bar tenders were attentive, friendly, and fast, though the drinks were specific to the event so I can't vouch for their cocktail slinging skills. We shuddered at the enormity of the speakers above the bar; this might be a spot to avoid if over-pumped music isn't your thing. The bathroom is absolutely worth seeing but there are plenty of reviews that detail that already. Bottom line? I would never, ever wait any amount of time or pay any amount of money to come here, but it was kind of cool to see it & hang out for a bit, given that none of either was involved on our parts.

Hmm, Yoshi's is a solid 4..almost 5! I didn't come here for the food, rather, came here on a Thursday night for the club part. My friend's friend apparently DJs every Thursday night, so headed over to check it out. It was my first time here, so of course I read a handful of Rateclub reviewers. And its true. The place is awesome. It was a lot bigger than I expected (restaurant part), and yes, I was impressed. Ok, on to the club part. Small dance area, plenty of couches. Music was awesome. Tons of old school hip hop mixes that brought me back to middle school days...crowd was diverse and not at all sketchy - almost an artsy aura. Drinks were decently strong...bathroom was clean. There was a $10 entry fee, but for the fabulous music and non-sketchy crowd? Worth it! I'll def come back here again.
