*This review is for Marbella, the nightclub* Of the Hollywood clubs I've been to, I think this one is one of the better ones. I've read some of the more critical reviews and was a little surprised. The place is under new management, so give it one more chance! This place has like 2 or 3 floors; it's pretty big, but we only used one of the floors for our event. The manager gave us a tour when we went to see the venue the week before our event. From my experience as an Underworld Productions promoter, the manager is warm and welcoming. The club's address is Hollywood Boulevard, but the entrance to the club is on McCadden Place. You have to walk up a flight of stairs and you enter through a spacious outdoor patio with cabanas and heat lamps. When you walk inside you'll see the bar and lounge space; in the next room is the dance floor with a raised DJ booth along with a couple raised tables for VIP/bottle service along one wall. **Try to find street parking if you don't want to pay $20 for parking in the garage!** The bartenders that served me that night were really friendly. I don't normally order drinks at the bar, but I wanted to have some fun, so I ordered a couple throughout the night for me and some friends. I charged each of them on my card and I was charged correctly when I checked my statement...the LA and Liquid Cocaine were $12 each; not bad for a strong drink! The Pineapple Malibu was $10. The prices are average for a Hollywood nightclub. If you're looking to party before Thanksgiving, Underworld Productions is hosting another party here on Wednesday, November 24! Check it out and RSVP for FREE admission on my guestlist (21+ only): http://going.com/Marbe...

I was actually really excited to see Ecco since it was the first "green" lounge / club.  A promoter friend got us in, all we had to do was drop his name and we bypassed the entire line and didn't have to pay cover.  I expected green walls or lights, or just something futuristic or innovative.  Instead, I walked into a TINY club that was really dark.  I thought Mood was small, but Ecco is only half the size of that! There are these weird large red circular lights on the wall.  In the center is a little square for the dance floor, the club is lined with tables.  On the north side is the DJ, and the bar is to the south. When we were there, these b-boys started battling which was pretty exciting considering that the vibe of the club itself was dead and it was already midnight at this time.  Then this blonde older lady wearing a black poodle skirt and a pink scarf around her neck wanted to get in on the fun and decided to battle the b-boys!!  She instead was just flailing her arms around and was doing twirls--it was seriously hilarious!  I honestly have no idea what she was doing, but it was the highlight of my night! We were tired of the club in less than 30 minutes and decided to leave but couldn't find the exit.  Rather than walking through the front entrance on Cahuenga, we were directed to this door that exited into a dark alley with an unpaved road that was lit only by the headlights of a car.  Here we are in our heels walking in dirt filled cracked roads--seriously a recipe for twisted ankles and disaster!

Low people abound.  Shootings happen here.  The name has changed to One since someone got killed inside.  Very un-Rittenhouse crowd.  Lots of Chevy Caprices with 24" chrome plated rims parked outside.  I would never consider going there anymore, it is full of unsavories.  There was a time a few years ago when the crowd was mostly decent people extending their night.  No longer.  It is a running joke in Rittenhouse Square about the clientele, show up before midnight and your parole officer gets in for half price...
