I came here to celebrate one of my friends birthday the other night. It seemed like a great place to hang out, but it was just really dead that night (i mean it was tuesday, so i understood). I kept hearing someone talk about ping pong, and then as I walked out i noticed that they have ping pong, darts, and even a Nintendo Wii - for everyone to play any night. I think next time I'm coming here i will definitely play a game of ping pong. Its so much fun :). They have a nice smoking patio for all you fellow cancer-stick lovers :). I know my friend had fun drinking, so that is what matters. P.S. This bar is right under Vivid Video....I thought that was cool haha.

There's something indefinably sexy about this place. Maybe it's the black and white portrait of the woman, centerpieced above the bar. With black lacquered walls, bold white trim, blood red accents, delicately wrought chandeliers, and a spattering of lush, green plant outcroppings, the decor itself is enough to instill a little intoxication. Mix in a signature Ella cocktail - made using one of the fresh watermelon halves adorning the bar top - served in a remarkable crystal-looking goblet, and you've got the perfect recipe for swank and splendor. At $12 a pop, prices were reasonable for Manhattan, and the alcohol content gave a decent punch to boot. I've heard there are several other tasty concoctions available, which I duly hope to try in the near future. Arriving on the Saturday night following New Year's, the scene may have been slightly more subdued than normal, which is why I'm maxxing out at four stars. The crowd was diverse, modest, and unpretentious; the doorman personable; the music relevant to contemporary partygoers. Although the downstairs piano bar area was roped off for a private party, I hope to have the opportunity to check it out sometime. In sum, the vibe was luscious and sumptuous, yet understated; the experience was undeniably inviting, and I think I'm a little hooked.

Wow.... My first time @ Cocomo's was on Halloween and let me tell you... IT WAS MOS DEF the place to be!!!! Everybody was in a costume and the vibe was "LET'S PARTY". The main dance floor is pretty big and the upstairs area was okay. The size of the place allows for there to be hundreds of people, but it not feel like there are. They have an outside lounging area with seating so that you can catch a breath of fresh air... FRESH AIR**** I couldn't give Cocomo 5 stars because it was mos def hotter than hell up in there. The salsa room....INFERNO. Upstairs....INFERNO...Main Dance floor....INFERNO... They need to get some fans up in there to keep the humidity down. The VIP area which is upstairs most definitely should have some type of A/C...it's 2008...and people need a/c, especially if they're in the VIP.
