The reason I went to Koko Cocktails the first time was because my friend Megan P. said it was her favorite place in the city. The reason I went there the second time was because I had such a good time the first time around. Koko has a really decent line-up of beers, both on tap and bottled: Speakeasy Prohibition, Dogfish 90 Minute IPA, St. Bernardus Prior 8, as well as a great selection of spirits. I was surprised to see Old Potrero, the great cask strength 100% rye whiskey from Anchor Brewery, since it's not very common. Their cocktails are pretty good too and the bartenders are always happy to make you something special. Another nice touch is a movie they project on the wall above the tables, usually a black-and-white classic or an animated one. It tends to fill up on the weekends, but even then it doesn't feel as bad as some of the other bars nearby, especially since the DJ pumps out some decent tunes. On weeknights it's a fairly chill place. So, get yourself over to Koko, ask for some Old Potrero diluted with a tad of water, and don't forget to check out Megan P.'s photo sitting on the backbar on the right side. She is the queen of it after all.

After having a nice dinner at Herbivore for my birthday we decided to go next door to Waziema to have a cocktail, We approached the bar and ordered our drinks from a very rude bartender who seemed bothered by the fact that we asked if they made a certain cocktail, after getting our drinks which were not what we ordered and tasted disgusting, we tried to exchange our drinks for something better, the bartender was so rude and said that is what we ordered and would not exchange it. She finally decided to replace one of the drinks for us but not the other and said we had to pay for it when we refused and went back to our tables, she then came over to our table and took the drink back! . This is the WORST service and attitude I have ever received at any bar and or restaurant. BEWARE!

I went into this place last week and had two rounds of Tenderloin Standoffs, then I got into a knife fight on Polk street. Good Times! This bar is a great place for friends to get together, have some drinks, and check out some beats.
