The wife and I have been driving past the build out for months waiting to try out the new neighborhood joint. Well, what a disappointment! The salsa tasted and looked Texas Pete, the mole chicken enchiladas were reminiscent of a cinnamon stick, the hanger steak was diced up and mixed with corn and we waited 50 minutes at 5:00 on a Sunday. I know it has only been a few weeks since the opening, but there are seriously WAY better Mexican options in the ATL.

I'm semi notorious among my friends for--when I set my mind to it--embarrassing face sucking with bar randos. If I'm in that zone, and you cross my path and are moderately attractive, meaning taller than me (I'm 5'2) and retaining most of your teeth, we just might end up face rasslin in the middle of the dance floor to the sounds of Akon. LIl Baobab is my standby when I set out to accomplish this. The music, as everyone else has said, is FAB. The guys, when you are 8 Trax vodka tonics deep, are HAWT. And Say what you will about the crowding and all that, but I have NEVER EVER had a bad time here.

One of my favorite neighborhood places to go. Also owned by folks I know so I am particular to it. Shine is the perfect size - not too big, not too tiny. There's usually room on the dance floor although it might be crowded, but that's better than overly cavernous. The photo booth is of course a blast too. Lots of good nights like Dirtybird and Angels of Bass too to check out for varying types of musical tastes...
