One day, the celebrity chef burger joint craze will blow over. That day has not yet arrived. After one aborted attempt on opening day, I finally got crunchified at Bobby's Burger Palace on Sunday after a brief 40 minute wait, most of which was spent in line just waiting to order. Once I ran the gauntlet of the ordering line, it was quite easy to find seats and the service really was a bright spot at BBP. Even though it's just an order at the register and wait for somebody to bring you your food type of place, the "waiters" were bustling around, cleaning up, chatting with customers, and making sure you got everything in your order. The Good: LA Burger, crunchified. Delicious. Cooked to a perfect medium, it was juicy and well seasoned. The guac was fantastic. Loved the bread. Often I criticize burgers for being oversalted, but I didn't find that to be the case tonight. Not huge, but a good size when combined with fries and a shake. Speaking of which, the vanilla milkshake I ordered was thick and ice creamy. Oh, and it came with a decent size  half pickle. I'm a sucker for pickles. Needs improvement: I got regular fries. The fry sauce was nothing too different than you might get at Monk's and the fries tasted like they'd been sitting out for a while. Next time, I'll skip the fries. Also, they were out of Margaritas, which was a real let down. I'm going to have to rack up 4 stars for Mr. Flay based on the main attraction: the burger. Can't wait till the crowds thin out a bit.

I've gotten pizza here a few times, and i don't understand what everyone is complaining about. it was like two bucks, and it was late, i think they close at midnight or something. But the pizza was good, thin crust. however you should not get it if you don't like garlic. i think they use garlic powder to flour the crust, a little too much. i've never had anything else there, but someone got a cheesesteak with me one time and they said it was good for the area and that there was a lot of meat. I'd give it a 4 if i had more than just the pizza, but rateclubs says 3 means A-OK, which is what it was.
